$200.00

Date: June 22-23, 2024, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 pm | Presenter: Alyssa Aviles

In this workshop, students will learn how to create a patterned piece of fabric or clothing using carved linoleum blocks. Students will learn the process of designing and carving an image on to a piece of linoleum, as well as different methods of printing patterns on to fabric. Students are encouraged to think experimentally with their printing surfaces and are invited to bring clothing to up-cycle with their designs. Students will also have the option to print on a large piece of fabric that can be turned into a piece of clothing or accessory in the future. At the end of the workshop, students will leave with a kit of tools to continue block printing and creating designs at home!

Presenter Bio: Alyssa Aviles is a visual artist and arts educator. Aviles is a printmaker by trade and embodies the knowledge of the printmaker across the different mediums she works in.
