Undergrowth EducationAL Print Fund
The Undergrowth Educational Print Fund (UEPF) program began in 2021 with the mission to support and nurture artists’ careers as printmakers and practicing studio artists. This program offers enriching opportunities for artists working in traditional print media to expand their technical skills and knowledge base through learning experiences in a professional print studio.
UEPF Programs
UEPF currently supports seven programs at Mullowney Printing; The Federico Sevilla Sierra Memorial Residency, Ford Family Foundation Hallie Ford Residency, Studio Apprenticeship Program, Gather:Make:Shelter Partnership, New Avenues for Youth Internship, the North Pole Studio Partnership, and High School Internship Program

Mullowney Printing’s partnership with Gather:Make:Shelter includes workshops in our studio in Portland, Oregon. Ten unhoused artists work on self-directed print projects with the assistance of Master and Assistant Printers from Mullowney Printing and Gather:Make:Shelter staff. The aforementioned workshops result in a portfolio of prints and a traveling exhibition. Learn more.
NORTH POLE STUDIO PARTNERSHIP
North Pole Studio supports careers in the arts, and exists to increase opportunities for artists with autism and intellectual / developmental disabilities to thrive as active members of the arts community. They foster self-determination and facilitate meaningful connections through total engagement in the arts. In 2025, we initiated a series of workshops over the course of six-months with clients at North Pole Studio.
NEW AVENUES FOR YOUTH: PAVE PROGRAM
New Avenues for Youth is a Portland-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention and intervention of youth homelessness. Their services for young people focus on the individual: their experiences, identities, needs, and goals - and helping them make positive change in their lives. We partner with New Avenues by mentoring and training an intern from the New Avenues program at the Mullowney Printing Studio.
