A five-day printmaking workshop for artists and printmakers who wish to brush up on their skills, realize a print project, and learn new skills in the spacious Mullowney Printing studio. Led by printers Paul Mullowney and Harry Schneider and assisted by studio printers and apprentices.

Available media include intaglio etching, photogravure, monotype, relief, letterpress, plate lithography, photopolymer platemaking for relief, intaglio, and letterpress, screen printing, chine collé, and working with East Asian papers.

This is a perfect chance for participants to begin and realize a project that can be editioned later; continue works in progress and expand skills and possibilities; or to simply dive and learn new techniques.

In this workshop intensive, the Mullowney Printing crew will be on hand to assist with your print ideas and will give group demonstrations throughout the time, as needed. Participants have the opportunity to spread out, utilizing the space collaboratively. Work can be left out each night, keeping on atmosphere which promotes exploration, experimentation and creativity.

Certain media, such as offset monotype, and letterpress are limited by the number of presses available — we encourage people to state the media the they are interested in pursuing when enrolling so that we can assure a well-rounded experience with press and equipment access available to all.

Additionally, this summer we are offering spots for participants who want to focus specifically on traditional copper plate photogravure working alongside Mullowney Printing director Paul Mullowney.  Due to the intensive nature of the process, we can accommodate just two people in this five day dedicated deep dive into photogravure.  Please email us if you are interested.
